Belper Shed, based in Ripley, provides a place to make and create where members can enjoy woodturning, woodworking, arts and crafts, and sewing in a social community space. Part of the UK Men’s Sheds Association, the Shed welcomes men and women.


Join our Shed
Open to men and women, and providing connection, conversation and creation, Belper Shed brings local people together to make, repair and repurpose, and support projects in Belper, Amber Valley and nearby areas.
Sheds improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and combat social isolation.

As a Member you become part of a nationwide network of Sheds. You’ll find a relaxed space where you can make and create, or enjoy company and a cup of tea. We support local projects too, making a difference to other people in the community.

Try something new
Whether you’re a keen woodworker or seamstress, we can provide access to the tools, machinery and materials you need. With support from other members and experts, you can learn a new skill or brush up on an existing one.
But, most importantly, you can spend time with like-minded members who share your passions, have a chat, and make new friends.

Questions
When is the Shed open?
We are currently open on Saturdays between 10:00 and 14:00, and Wednesdays from 12:00 to 16:00.
How much is Membership?
We charge an annual membership fee of £15, plus £5 per session.
How can I support the Shed?
We welcome donations of tools and materials, as well as financial. We are a self-funded CIC and all support makes a big difference to us and the members of the Shed.
What can I do at the Shed?
We have arts and crafts materials – painting, drawing, mindful colouring, sewing plus a large collection of models and jigsaws.
Or, start a woodworking project. We will be offering woodturning very soon.
Why should I join the Shed?
Sheds offer a creative community space where you can get involved in a range of activities and meet new friends. Making and creating has a therapeutic effect and a positive impact on mental health.
